Eye witnesses say Israeli snipers shot at her and a colleague, Ali al-Samoudi, who was also wounded by a bullet in the back, despite them both wearing press vests and helmets.
According to the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ), at least 46 Palestinian journalists have been killed by Israel since the year 2000 and no one has been held to account.

27th April 2022: We're live with distinguished Palestinian politician, activist and physician, Dr. Mustafa Barghouti, to hear the latest on what's really happening on the ground in Jerusalem and further afield in Palestine.
On Friday, 150,000 Palestinians travelled to Al-Aqsa, occupied East Jerusalem, on the third Friday of Ramadan where over 150 of whom were injured, including two journalists.
Viral footage showed drones dropping tear gas and a Palestinian journalist being treated from injuries after being struck with a rubber-coated steel bullet in the neck.
Dr Barghouti recently told Al Jazeera that such increased confrontations on the ground in Palestine are leading to something that could become “a wide-ranging intifada”.

16th March 2022: Mark Seddon is in conversation with distinguished Palestinian journalist and author, Dr. Ramzy Baroud, to understand just what it's like to witness the crisis in Ukraine unfold through the eyes of the Palestinian people.
They examine the apparent hypocrisy of the international community as well as the mainstream media in their response to Russia’s invasion and occupation of Ukraine in comparison to their response, or lack of it, to Israel’s ongoing 74-year occupation of Palestine.
This is not to be missed! What seems to be emerging on the global geopolitical stage? – Can new alliances form in the wake of shifting balances of power amidst the decline in US hegemony?
Can Palestine really be forced to choose between its Russian ally and US funds over the crisis in Ukraine?
And why are more public figures, the latest being Egypt's Squash champion Ali Farag, right now taking it upon themselves to speak up for Palestine on the world stage?
